1. Who controls your information

Your personal data is collected and stored on servers located in India by Profitse Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, having its registered office at No. 472/7, Balaji Arcade, 2nd & 3rd Floor, A.V.S Compound, Koramangala VI Block, Bengaluru South, Bengaluru 560095, Karnataka.

We are a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. You are a Data Principal. Where we act as a Lending Service Provider for a bank or an NBFC, we also follow the Reserve Bank of India (Digital Lending) Directions, 2025 and the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005.

2. What Kaapi Money is, and is not

This matters for understanding what data we need.

Kaapi Money is not a bank or an NBFC. We do not lend money and we do not accept deposits. We show you your credit score, explain your credit report, give you a plan to improve it, surface loan and credit card options from partner lenders, and teach you about money in plain language.

We do not disburse loan money and we do not receive your repayments. Loan money moves directly between you and the lender.

We do not conduct KYC. Know Your Customer verification is the lender’s regulatory obligation under RBI’s Master Direction on KYC, and the lender carries it out directly with you on its own systems. Identity documents, photographs, and video verification for KYC are given by you to the lender, not to us. We do not collect, view, or store them.

We do not currently carry out any recovery or collections activity. If that ever changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you before any such activity begins.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

3. What information we collect

3.1 Information you give us

You may choose not to provide certain information, but some features will then be unavailable to you.

We do not collect biometric information.

3.2 Information we receive from others

3.3 Information collected automatically

Device type, operating system, browser, IP address and the approximate city derived from it, session timestamps, screens viewed, and actions taken. We also use log files and cookies, described in Section 5.

3.4 What we never access

We do not access your phone contacts, call logs, SMS messages, photo gallery, media files, file storage, or continuous background location. This is prohibited by the RBI Digital Lending Directions, 2025, and it is also our own policy.

If anyone claiming to represent Kaapi Money asks for any of the above, it is a fraud. Please report it to us immediately.

3.5 Sensitive categories

We do not ask for and do not want information about your caste, religion, political views, health, or sexual orientation. If such information appears incidentally in a message, we do not use it for any decision and we remove it during record cleaning.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

By registering, you authorise Kaapi Money to send you SMS, email, in-app notifications, and calls relating to your account and the services you have opted for, including where your number is registered under DND, DNC, or NCPR. This authorisation remains valid until your account is deactivated or you withdraw consent.

We do not use your personal data to train third-party AI models. Where an AI provider processes your data to power our AI assistants, that provider is contractually barred from using it for its own training.

5. Cookies and log files

We use session cookies and persistent cookies on our website. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and cannot be disabled. Advertising cookies and pixels are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change that choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking them may prevent parts of the Platform from working.

Our log files record IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, platform type, date and time stamps, and click counts. We use this to analyse trends, administer the Platform, and understand usage in aggregate.

6. Your credit information

Consent. We fetch your credit report only after you give clear, separate, in-product consent. Consenting to a credit report check is not the same as consenting to a loan application, and we take each separately.

Soft enquiry. Our check is a soft enquiry and does not reduce your credit score. If you go on to apply for a loan, the lender may run a hard enquiry, which can affect your score slightly. We will tell you before that step.

We cannot change your credit report. The data belongs to the credit bureau. If something in it is wrong, you must raise a dispute directly with Experian. We will explain the process and help you prepare it, but the correction is theirs to make.

Retention. We retain your credit report and credit score for the shorter of six months, the period needed to serve the purpose for which it was obtained, or until you withdraw consent.

7. Who we share your information with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it, on a need-to-know basis, with:

Credit information companies, to fetch and refresh your credit report.

Lending partners, being banks, NBFCs, and other RBI-regulated entities. We share your profile only after you select a specific offer and confirm. We tell you the lender’s name before you confirm.

Government agencies and regulators, where disclosure is required by law, including for verification of identity, prevention or investigation of offences, or compliance with a legal obligation. You consent to such disclosure where required by applicable law.

A successor entity, in the event of a merger, reorganisation, consolidation, or sale of all or part of our business.

Every recipient is bound by contract to handle your information with the same level of care and confidentiality that we apply, to act only on our instructions, and not to use it for their own purposes.

7.1 The third parties we currently use

9. Your rights and your control

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the following rights, all free to exercise.

Access. Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with.

Correction and updating. Ask us to correct, complete, or update your information. Note that we cannot alter your credit bureau report, as explained in Section 6.

Erasure. Ask us to delete your data, subject to the retention periods in Section 8.

Withdrawal of consent. Withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal operates going forward and does not undo processing already lawfully carried out. If you withdraw consent, we may have to stop providing the services for which the information was needed.

Grievance redressal. Complain to us about how we have handled your data, under the process in Section 12 and our Grievance Redressal Policy.

Nomination. Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act.

How to exercise these rights. Use the “My data” section in the app, or email grievance@kaapi.money from your registered email address. We respond within 30 days.

Account deletion. You can request deletion from the app or by writing to us. After we verify your request, we process it as soon as possible and in any case within 45 days. In some cases we cannot fully delete your data, because law or our lending partners’ regulatory obligations require us to retain it so that services you have already availed can continue to be serviced. Any retained information stays protected under the safeguards in Section 10.

Marketing preferences. You can opt out of marketing messages using the unsubscribe link in any email, the notification settings in the app, or by writing to support@kaapi.money. Please allow up to 10 days for processing. We will continue to send you service and transactional messages about your account.

Your responsibilities. Please give us accurate information and do not impersonate anyone. Furnishing false particulars while exercising these rights can attract a penalty under Section 33 of the DPDP Act. We are not responsible for the authenticity of information supplied to us by you or by a third party.

10. Data security

We take reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data, appropriate to how sensitive it is and how much of it we hold. These include encrypting your data and controlling who can access it. We keep our safeguards under review and improve them as we grow.

No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for not sharing them with anyone.

If you suspect or become aware of a security incident or data breach relating to Kaapi Money, please report it immediately to grievance@kaapi.money.

If a breach occurs, we will tell you about it in plain language, covering what happened, what data was involved, what it could mean for you, what we are doing about it, what you should do, and who to contact. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board of India and to any other authority the law requires, within the timelines the law sets.

11. Automated processing and our AI assistants

We use AI assistants to answer your questions inside the Platform. Two things to understand.

They can be wrong. They provide information and general guidance, not certified financial, legal, or tax advice. Please verify anything important with a qualified professional before acting.

They do not decide your loan. Credit decisions are made by the bank or NBFC you apply to, using their own criteria. Where we shortlist offers, we do so on stated eligibility criteria, and you can ask us to explain the logic in plain terms.
